Rendall-Jackman

Massive Banded Sulphide from Dump

The Rendall-Jackman deposit has had a long history of exploration dating back to the 1909. Several shafts were sunk and a small amount of material mined. Two VMS (Volcanogenic Massive Sulfide ore deposits) stratabound massive sulphidebodies have been identified on the property and are of the “Betts Cove” Type having an ophiolitic affinity with copper, zinc and gold credits.

Two holes were drilling by Noranda in 1990 (Andrews, 1991) and returned the following results:DDH RJ-90-6 1.24% Cu, 6.5 % Zn, 14.3 g/t Au, 19.6 g/t Ag over 0.6 mDDH RJ-90-6 0.82% Cu, 0.22% Zn, 6.99 g/t Au,5.8 g/t Ag over 0.7 mDDH RJ-90-7 0.67% Cu, 1.57 g/t Au, 2.2 g/t Ag over 0.9 m

The best results from trenching, adjacent to the old #2 shaft, gave a combined assay of 3.09 g/t Au, 7.9% Ag and > 1% Cu over 3.4 m (Andrews, 1988)
