Gold Potential

Golden Anchor Au Prospect

  • Located along strike and within 200 meters of the known “Lochinvar” Deposit (588,000 tonnes -average grade of 3.9% Zn, 0.4% Cu, 60g/t Ag and 0.45g/t Au)
  • A 500 meter long, 110 degree trending gold in soil geochemistry anomaly outlined by Major General compared by in size and magnitude to that of the Hammerdown Gold Deposit (Mullins 1994). This target remains virtually untested!
  • Limited drilling on claims with best results returning 1.86 g/t Au over 2.0 m

Beetle Pond

  • Located just south of the Golden Anchor Zone, the Beetle Pond area represents a large geochemical anomaly defined by highly anomalous soil and lithogeochemical results measuring in excess of 1.5 kilometers. Limited shallow drilling has intersected highly chloritized felsic volcanics returning intersections of up to 1.6% Zn over 2 m. Other drilling results include broad zones of disseminated sphalerite mineralization. Three samples collected from float near Beetle Pond itself assayed 1.5, 3.0 and 9.9 g/t Au.
  • Comment by Anglo American-“Further consideration should also be given to deep exploration in the vicinity of Beetle Pond as this area is host to widespread, visually impressive, alteration and disseminated sulphide mineralization potentially associated with a significant, deeply buried, massive sulphide deposit.”
  • The zone remains untested.
